I didn't go to any panels this year, but I hung out at the Poetry Stage for awhile and heard Amy Uyematsu read selections from Stone Bow Prayer and Nights of Fire, Nights of Rain. Afterwards I chatted with her a bit at the booksigning table and had her autograph her books for me.
In the Poetry Stage area, I ran into Marie Lecrivain, the editor of Poetic Diversity, who told me that her review of unfinished book would be online tomorrow. We also had an interesting discussion about blogs, their purpose and usefulness. She's not a blog person, feeling that a person who has a blog gives up the right to his/her privacy. She has a point there, but I suppose it depends upon what the blogger writes about.
I try to keep mine focused on my poetry interests more than "what I did today", although some of that does creep in here. Hopefully, this works for the readers of my blog as much as it does for me, as the writer.
Finally, I met Matt McGee, the editor/publisher of Falling Star Magazine, a nicely produced little small press journal. I came away with the Spring 2006 issue which contains work by John Grey, Lyn Lifshin, John Tiong Chunghoo, Amitava Dasgupta, Michael Estabrook, and others.
