Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival - Top 30

The Top 30 Haiku from the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival Haiku Invitational are now online.

Unfortunately, neither of my two entries were among them, but that's not surprising because I wrote them in a bit of a hurry. I had submitted two quality haiku very close to the deadline without reading the fine print, i.e. duh it's a cherry blossom festival, so the haiku should be about cherry blossoms. The festival organizer wrote me a nice note and asked me to submit some alternate haiku that were about cherry blossoms or cherry trees, etc.

So, there I was feeling committed to entering the contest without a single cherry blossom haiku to my name. So, I had a frantic cherry tree haiku brainstorming session and wrote about seven attempts and sent in my two best ones from the batch, but I sort of knew when I clicked submit, that they just didn't cut it.
