There's a haiku workshop today at the USC Pacific Asia museum where we will be doing a fukuromawashi exercise. "Fukuromawashi" literally means "passing the bag". This exercise is based upon an exercise they do at HPNC (Haiku Poets of Northern California Meetings). We will have words in envelopes which will serve as prompts for writing haiku. We will write for 3 minutes, then pass the envelope to the next person. Write on that prompt for 3 minutes, then pass the envelope, etc.
