Sleep Typing about Poetry....

sleep typing
poems which only exist
in my dreams

I wish I really could type in my sleep, so I'd have the time to type everything I'd like to write about. Or, maybe I just need a clone.

three new clones…
somehow I still
do the dishes

Recently there have been some excellent poetry events in Southern California. The SFPA poetry reading at the Eaton Conference. The W.S. Merwin and Billy Collins readings at USC. The fantastic poetry workshop and reading at ConDor.

Marcy Rockwell (who I finally met in person!) wrote an excellent blog post about ConDor: http://mrockwell.livejournal.com/2011/02/28/

There is more poetry on the horizon and I'm planning to be at:

Tuesday, March 8, 7 pm - Open Mic, Barnes & Noble, Long Beach - hosted by G. Murray Thomas
Wednesday, March 9, 7:15 p.m. - Tanka Workshop, Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute
Saturday, March 19, 2 pm - Haiku Workshop, Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena
Friday, March 25-Sunday, March 27 - Haiku San Diego hosts the Haiku Society of America Quarterly meeting. Most events will be on Saturday at the Ink Spot
Saturday, April 2 - Haiku Workshop, Huntington Beach Central Library

Finally, the latest issue of the Heron's Nest is online with one of my haiku:
