Egrets Reading

Speculative Haiku

For the last several years I haven't written much speculative poetry at all. The poet wars that ensued during the end of my SFPA presidency just put up a mental block that almost totally killed my creativity in that area. Instead, I've been happy just focusing on haiku.

However, haiku poet Susan Burch reached out to me after recently discovering scifaiku. She has had some scifaiku published in Grievous Angel. After writing an e-mail to her about speculative haiku in general, suddenly the floodgates opened and I wrote 10 scifaiku in a sitting!

I am hoping to actually submit these, so I won't post them here.
