Weekend Poetry

This weekend is filled to the brim with poetry events I'm involved with....

Saturday, 2 pm - Haiku Workshop at the Pacific Asia Museum

Billie Dee, our haiku group's 2010 anthology editor, will talk about "Spinning the Classics: Exploring the North American haiku canon."

William Hart, author of several haiku books including a HSA Merit Award winning book, will be our featured reader.

Please bring haiku to share in our haiku read-around.

Sunday, 11 am - Earth and Poetry Day at the Whittier Narrows Natural Area

This event starts with a guided walk of the natural area and wildlife sanctuary to be followed by poetry and refreshments. Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo is the host. Featured readers and performers are Jared Paul, Deborah P Kolodji, Chris Wesley, and Erika Ayon.

Some items you may want to bring: good walking shoes, binoculars, notebook and pen, water, and your imagination.
