The Winter 2009 issue of Mayfly hit my mailbox today. This journal is always a delight - there are only a dozen or so haiku per issue so it can be read in its entirety almost instantaneously upon receipt. Then I let the haiku soak in for the rest of the day.

At the moment I'm pondering Pat Tompkins haiku about egrets and herons, curves and fonts... and realize I need to schedule another trip to Bolsa Chica before all the winter birds leave.
