There’s still snow up by Gorman at the top of the pass but of course it is no longer a road obstruction. Just pretty.

I had forgotten how foggy it can be in the Central Valley in the winter, and on Saturday morning while descending from Gorman towards Bakersfield, the fog bank just hung on the horizon, combined of course with refinery pollution and and car exhaust, etc. At first I thought it was smoke from a fire, it was that dark and ugly against the horizon. And so startling, compared to the blue skies at the summit.
