Snakes on a Beach!

No, it's not the name of a new Samuel L. Jackson movie.

Local news outlets are reporting that because of the fires and last week's rainstorm, rattlesnakes have washed down from the canyons onto some county beaches. A rattlesnake was found at Zuma Beach and another one at Nicholas Canyon Beach. Both beaches are in Malibu.

Apparently rattlesnakes can be mistaken for sticks when they end up on beaches.

Beachcombers beware! That next piece of driftwood may not only look like one of kathleenwilson's creatures, it might actually be a living, slithering, coiling, rattling creature.

But seriously, I've lived in Southern California my entire life and frequented the local beaches and this the first time I recall EVER hearing of rattlesnakes on our beaches.
