Egrets Reading

Landfall, an anthology of "Poetry of Place in Modern English Tanka," has been published by Modern English Tanka Press.

The anthology was edited by Denis M. Garrison and Michael McClintock and contains 200+ pages of tanka by an assortment of international poets from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, Thailand, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

It also contains three of my tanka, including this one originally published in the Central California Poetry Journal:

we walk
in the shadows
of giant sequoias—
dwarfed by ancient stillness,
our feet whisper

The ocean calls

the ocean calls
and yet my feet
are dry –
I step away
from inhibition
