Yuki Teikei Haiku Contest

The deadline for the Kiyoshi and Kiyoko Tokutomi Memorial Haiku Contest sponsored by the Yukei Teikei Society is May 31, 2007. This is an "in-hand" deadline not a postmark deadline.

The top three haiku will receive $100, $50, and $25 respectively.

The haiku must be written in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern and use one
kigo (season word) from the following list:

New Year: New Years Morning
Spring: hermit crab, jacaranda
Summer: mosquito, lemonade
Autumn: waters of autumn, hurricane
Winter: Veterans Day, cold sparrow

Please note that haiku with more than one recognized kigo or which
do not use one of the above listed kigo will be disqualified.

Entry fee: US $7.00 per page of three haiku. No limit on entries.
Entries will not be returned.

Submit 4 copies of each page with your name and address on only one
copy, printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

Make checks or money order payable to "Yuki Teikei Haiku Society".
For the results list, send an SASE marked "Contest winners".

Entries must be original, unpublished and not under consideration
elsewhere.
