MarsRover

Dragons, Knights & Angels Contest Winners

Today, I found out that “On the Crest of Victoria Crater,” a Martian Rover poem of mine, won an honorable mention in the Dragons, Knights, & Angels poetry contest. The formal announcement is here.

First place and $75 was awarded to John Kuhn for “Statuary”

Second place and $40 was given to SFPA secretary, Malcolm Deeley.

Third place and $20 went to Chris Mikesell for “Transport – or The Revelatory Love Song of Arthur J. MacArthur-Prufrock”

There were three other honorable mentions besides my poem.

Patricia Kelly, a friend from the Scifaiku List (and who wrote a great scifaiku in my “What is Scifaiku?” brochure for WorldCon) won an HM for her scifaiku, “open”.

The other two were “Black Hole Relationships” by R.L. Copple and “How Angels Fledge” by Jane Lebak.

I’m looking forward to reading all of these poems online in the upcoming months at DKA. It’s also great to see a scifaiku place in the contest!
