Egrets Reading

Multimedia Poetry

Reflecting upon WorldCon and the poetry panel I didn’t make which was so originally titled “SF Poetry,” I brainstormed some mental lists of possible poetry panel topics for future cons. This started me thinking about multimedia poetry, something quite common in haiku circles, yet something I haven’t seen used much for science fiction poetry.

Then, today Michael Arnzen posted news of his poetry film Exquisite Corpse on the SFPANet list.

He says that “EXQUISITE CORPSE is a compilation film, pulling together adaptations of a dozen of my short poems and flash fictions by different independent artists/filmmakers/animators from around the world into one thirty-minute feature.”

Here is a link to the trailer.

He’s hoping for a debut at FantasyCon in the UK at the end of September. If anyone is interested in setting up a screening at a convention, contact him at arnzen AT gorelets DOT com.

Shifting back from Michael’s horror poetry and speaking of haiku multimedia, here's a link to a haiga I enjoyed recently by another poet named Michael:
