Egrets Reading

Some Shakespeare plays are performed more often than others. For example I have yet to see a performance of Coriolanus which I wrote a term paper on over twenty-five years ago during my USC days.

Hamlet is one of those Shakespearean festival staples that keeps showing up again and again on the playbills. It's also so widely quoted that even a person who doesn't know the play will hear familiar passages when seeing it for the first time.

Last night's free Shakespeare by the Sea performance at South Pasadena's Garfield Park was wonderful. I had a great time and would highly recommend going if it happens to show up at a park near you. Before it closes on August 11th at Point Fermin Park, it will play in parks in Rancho Palos Verdes, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, and Newport Beach.
