Egrets Reading

Hamlet and LA Poetry

Just a reminder that Shakespeare by the Sea is giving a free performance of Shakespeare's Hamlet on Thursday, July 20th at 7:00 pm in Garfield Park in South Pasadena. I'm planning to take a low beach chair and a picnic dinner and meet some friends there. If you're free for the evening...the more the merrier.

Also, Don Kingfisher Campbell is having his San Gabriel Valley Poetry Quarterly Reading next Monday night, July 24th at the Catalina Branch of the Pasadena Library at 8:00 p.m. The following, most of who are local poets, are included in this issue of the SGVPQ:

Lynn Allgood, Theresa Antonia, Michael A Barraza, Jack Bowman, Leah Brown, Calokie, Don Kingfisher Campbell, John Chang, Tobi Cogswell, Pauline Dutton, Michael C Ford, Thom Garzone, Orania Hamilton, Charles Harmon, Lindy Hill, Jeffry Jenson, Jerry Jerome, Chrystine Julian, Scott C Kaestner, Deborah P Kolodji, Marie Lecrivain, Ellaraine Lockie, Consuelo Marshall, Terry McCarty, Michael McLaughlin, Mira Mitaric, Christopher Mulrooney, Don Newton, Katherine Norland, Toti O'Brien, Sherman Pearl, Douglas Richardson, Wanda Van Hoy Smith, Enrique Souffle, Pat Viera, Patricia Wellingham-Jones, M. Gwin Wheatley, and Kathy Wilson

Finally, Andwerve, a Los Angeles litmag which transitioned from a freebie coffeehouse poetry journal to a webzine, has two of my poems in the July issue:

You will note that there are actually five of my poems on this page. For whatever reason, Nate Nieman, the editor, prefers to add a month's poems to a poet's previous page.
