Pt Fermin?

Is anyone familiar with Pt Fermin Park?

Tomorrow my haiku group is meeting at Pt Fermin park in one of the pergolas along the edge overlooking the ocean.

I stopped by last week to check it out and my question concerns the tidepools.

My son Sean told me that the tidepools by Pt Fermin were fantastic - he'd went with a class from UCLA. I could see people down there and if you look closely at this photo, you can see a guy on the rocks, but I couldn't quite figure out how the people got down there. There was a wall around the park and a gated fence with a sign warning against trespassers to the "Marine wildlife preserve", yet I could see a trail but just couldn't find the access to the trail, other than climbing over the fence surrounding Pt Fermin Park and ignoring the "No trespassing" signs, which didn't seem like a good idea to me.

Does anyone know? I'd like to go early and check them out.
