Egrets Reading

Poetic Souls

Yesterday, I attended a poetry reading at the Home Brew Coffee House in San Dimas. This is the Poetic Souls reading, which is hosted by Jim Lyons, co-hosted by Chrystine Julian and/or Lee Collins.

Several people from The California Federation of Chaparral Poets, Inc. were there. I read a selection of different things at the open mic - the winning poem from the CFCP convention, my recent poem from Strange Horizons, a sonnet ("Last of the Lost") from Symphony of the Universe, "Infidelity" from unfinished book, and the "Life Blooms" grouping of haiku.

They seemed well-received (I sold two chapbooks and Chrystine expressed an interest in having me feature there sometime). I'm thinking of trying to schedule a Symphony of the Universe reading and seeing if I can get the LA sf poets together again. Perhaps we could do dinner afterwards? There's an Applebees across the street from the coffee house.
