Egrets Reading

New Haiku Group Website

Last week, I finally set up a website (using blogspot) for the Southern California Haiku Study Group. Wendy's son had set up a website a few years ago, but when it came up for re-registration, a porn site took it over before we realized we needed to pay for a few more years.

I'd bought the domain name (http://www.socalhaiku.org) six months ago, but never have managed to open up that html book that is sitting on my shelf. I finally decided to use blogspot just to make it happen. If I ever get ambitious, I can redirect the domain name to a "real website" but actually, just for keeping everyone updated on meetings & events, etc, a blog really works just fine.

Why blogspot? For some reason that baffles me, more of my haiku friends are on blogspot & most of my sf poetry friends are on livejournal.

The other California local groups already had websites, i.e. The Central Valley Haiku Club and The Haiku Poets of Northern California, so I thought it was time to put us back on the map.
