Egrets Reading

Stardust Lullaby

My cinquain, Stardust Lullaby is now online at The Sword Review. This one was written for the Stardust mission after I read a news release from NASA which said after the comet particles had been returned to earth, the spaceship was sent a sequence of binary code to put it into a hibernation state and that the spaceship could be reactivated later if they decided they had a use for it.

I don't know why I find NASA missions so inspiring. When I was 16 or so, I wrote one for the Viking mission to Mars and here I am, still writing poems for various NASA probes years later.
