Egrets Reading

Five Lines

There's something about five line poetry that I like. Obviously, I'm a bit nutty about cinquains, which is how I came to edit a webzine like Amaze.

However, I also enjoy tanka and I've found that some of the longer poems I've been writing lately are ending up in five-line stanzas....

Speaking of cinquains, there are just four days left in my blog cinquain contest. The winner will receive my extra copy of the current issue of California Quarterly.

Click here to read the blog entry where the contest entries are to be posted.

Here's something from my own cinquain repertoire:

months from summer's fish hook --
