Egrets Reading

Contrib copies, rejections, more rengays...

Today, I received my contributor's copy of The Sword Review, which can be purchased at Lulu.Com. I was impressed with my experience at The Sword Review, the span of time between submission, acceptance, payment, publication, and receiving my contributor copy in the mail was about two months. I submitted Implosion to them in November.

This evening, some more rejections came in from Lone Star Stories. However, since the current issue of LSS has two of my scifaiku, I can't really complain!

Finally, I've been fairly creative lately, especially with my collaborative work. Ann K Schwader and I have been working on some "weird science" rengays, and I've finished three moon rengays with oino sakai, one of my cohorts from "From the Oort Cloud" (in the next Mythic Delirium). One of these rengays is about Europa, one is about Ganymede, and the third takes place on an unnamed icy moon somewhere. I've suggested a fourth revolving around Tethys, the moon of Saturn, but I'm not sure where it's going quite yet. (Collaborative work can take on a mind of its own).

Actually, I've gone a bit nuts about moons lately, writing (solo) poems on various moons of Jupiter....Callisto, Europa, Ganymede, Adrastea, and Leda.

Oddly enough, none of these five poems are scifaiku or cinquains. They range from 5 to 21 lines.
