Egrets Reading

Event Horizons....

My pick for the short-short poem of the day is Winter Solstice, Nightfall by Ann K. Schwader from the Winter 2005 issue of Twilight Times, which like all of the poems I've been spotlighting this week, is Rhysling eligible. I have a a definite fondness for "Event Horizons" (if you remember which poem won my Dwarf Stars word poem contest) and Ann's combination of astronomical and winter/spring earth images is enchanting.

Speaking of Ann, Star*Line just purchased a rengay I wrote with her, "Mars: A Study in Scarlet" for the July/Aug 2006 issue, as well as another of my poems, "Embracing Darkness," for the Nov/Dec 2006 issue.

Daily reminder - just a few more days to get those Short-Short Rhysling Award Proposal ballots in the mail.
