Egrets Reading

Treasures in the Mail

When I was assembling my giant mailing of Dwarf Stars, my son was teasing me, "Mom, what are all these people going to think when, out of the blue, they receive a random book of poetry in the mail?"

I said I didn't know, but I hoped they liked it.

"Maybe you'll start receiving random books of poetry in the mail!" he suggested.

I thought that would be nice, but unlikely.

Well, guess what? Today, I did!

Steve Sneyd mailed me a copy of his scifaiku chapbook, Three Star Chamber, from the UK.

I'm thrilled, even if a bit disappointed that he doesn't seem to find my argument for a short-short Rhysling convincing.

But, I haven't given up hope...perhaps Steve doesn't see the need, but there are other members in the SFPA who seem more receptive.

And Steve has suggested reviewing Dwarf Stars for Data Dump, which mostly circulates in the UK, an exciting development!

Data Dump is available from Hilltop Press, 4 Nowell Place, Almondbury, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD5 8PB, England, for 70 p/$2.00.
