Egrets Reading

Haiga Online

I just found out that two of my haiku will be painted for the “traditional haiga” section of the next issue of Haiga Online. (http://www.haigaonline.com)

This is rather exciting. Linda Papanicolaou, the new editor taking over from an’ya, had contacted me about submitting some haiku and so I sent her three. She then passed them over to the artistic staff and they’ve chosen to paint two of them. Mary Rodning will paint the haiga and Hiromi Inoue will translate the haiku into Japanese. Shisen will do the calligraphy and Choshi (Paul Cooper) will compose bamboo flute accompaniment.

I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with for my poems.
