A postcard from Italy

Today, due to some quantum weirdness at the US Postal Service, I received a postcard from Italy. Actually, it was from Vatican City - postmarked, stamped, etc.

The weird thing is that it wasn't addressed to me. It was addressed to a female person of undetermine age in Normady Park, Washington. There is nothing similar about my address in California and hers in Washington, except that our state codes both end in an "A" and our zip codes both start with "9".

So, why was the postcard delivered to me?

I don't know.

However, it was a good mail day over all. In addition to the mystery postcard, I received a postcard from a friend on a photo safari in Kenya, four crisp one dollar bills for various haiku (bottle rockets and Hahaku), a contributor's copy of Hahaku, a copy of White Lotus haiku journal, some copies of a broadsheet J. Bruce Fuller did which included a speculative rengay of mine with Ann K. Schwader, and a copy of the trifold J. Bruce did with Robin Mayhall and Charles Gramlich for Babelcon. It's called "Aurore Australe: southern lights, works of speculative poetry by Lousiana poets and it's a really great giveaway advertisement for the SFPA. It does my heart good to see members taking the initiative to promote speculative poetry and the SFPA.
