I thought I had completely missed the window on the "Pluto loses its status" topic so I had stopped submitting it out. However, on a lark I entered it in the California Federation of Chaparral Poets annual contest in the Science and Technology category.
The winners have been posted and it turns out that "No Longer One of the Good Ole Boys" has come in second place, which means $40.00 and publication in the Prize Poems anthology which will be available at their convention in late April.
I also ended up winning a third place and two honorable mentions, which means my total winnings total $65 this year. Not bad for a contest with no entry fees for members.
